Special Agent Vin Cooper is feeling reckless. He volunteers for the dumbest and most dangerous job going personal security operations in Afghanistan protecting bent politicians.

Things go horribly wrong when their United Nations chopper is forced down in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the middle of an all-out firefight by opposing forces. The nightmare only intensifies when some of Cooper's people, including one of the entertainers, are captured.
While risking his life to rescue his principals, Cooper spies a US DoD advisor in the enemy encampment, which is awash with American weaponry. It seems that their forced landing in this inhospitable place was no accident...

Absolutely loved this book, I do like action books and been reading David Rollins since his first book (which was lovely to see as a aussie action). Sure it was amazing noone really got killed in the team and they managed to wipe out a couple of hundred enemy troops with Vin Cooper seemed to live a charmed life but anyone reading books by Mathew reilly knows how these guys seem to be "super heroes"I really enjoyed the action and enjoyed Vin wise-cracks, certainly an excellent book to follow on after the sad death of his girlfriend in the previous novel.

Really interesting premise. Used real happenings that are still going on,but not making the news anymore. Agent cooper has more lives than a cat. Takes a beating and keeps on winning. A real hero when he's done.
"Ghost Watch" is such a well-written adventure that it became one of those can't-stop-reading-it novels that I needed to finish ASAP. David Rollins has done a meticulous and thorough job in his research (as usual) for this book. The characters are all well-defined, the plot has interesting sub-layers, and the excitement is constant! Plus, Mr. Rollins has a keen sense of humor that he has sprinkled throughout the book. When I finished reading it, my wife, who had not been a reader of military thrillers, picked it up and is now caught in the excitement!
A note to new followers of David Rollins This is the fourth book in the "Vin Cooper" military thriller series. All are exciting with some good humor included. While you do not need to read them in order, it is probably a good idea to do so in order that you have some useful background information by the time you read this book.
Very well written thriller taking place in darkest Africa. Excellent writing, characterization and a lots of wit and humor mixed in the the drama and seriousness of the story. Highly recommended.
There's too much graphic violence in this story,,it's probably literally accurate but wasn't needed. A little goes a long way. Also I felt there was too much indepth armament information just taking up page space. Not necessary and makes the story go slower. The story could of stood on its own.
David Rollins is an Australian writer. Before the recession, he had a publisher in the United States and I used to get his books at the library. With the recession, he lost that publisher and I sorely missed his books. I found this in the used category. The price was good, the book arrived promptly and was in excellent condition. I'm keeping this book to reread from time to time.
Not my favorite as that was the first book but a great part of the series. It was lengthy in certain areas but flowed well. Not all that believable but under the right conditions I believe it could be possible. I look forward to the next in the series.
A great read, I couldn't put it down. I have read a lot of this authors books, but this one I have to put at the top of the list. I recommended it to a friend and she loved it too.
